Staff Attorney - Complex Litigation / eDiscovery (L2)

AmLaw Firm | Remote | Pacific Time

High-Level Role Summary

This is a senior Staff Attorney role supporting complex, high-stakes litigation for a top AmLaw firm. While the work includes eDiscovery, this is not a first-level document review position. The attorney will perform Level 2 review, privilege analysis, develop review protocols, conduct Relativity searches, and support fact development and witness prep. The role requires someone who has previously worked as a Staff Attorney at an AmLaw or large litigation firm and can seamlessly integrate with case teams.


Top Requirements (Non-Negotiable)

  1. Experienced Litigation Attorney

    • 10+ years of legal experience
    • Deep exposure to heavy, complex litigation
    • Comfortable exercising legal judgment (not just tagging docs)
  2. Senior Document Review / L2 Experience

    • Level 2 review (responsiveness, issue spotting, privilege)
    • Privilege logging and QC
    • Drafting and enforcing review protocols
  3. AmLaw or Large Firm Experience

    • Prior work with AmLaw firms (staff attorney or long-term contract)
    • Understands pace, expectations, and quality standards
  4. Prior Staff Attorney Role

    • Must have previously held a Staff Attorney position
    • Not looking for associates transitioning into doc review for the first time
  5. Pacific Time Zone

    • Must be living and working in PT
    • CA bar license required

Strong Preferences / Nice to Have

  • Wildfire litigation experience
    • Utility defense or plaintiff wildfire matters
    • Large-scale disaster or mass tort litigation
  • Advanced Relativity skills
    • Search term development
    • Analytics, threading, batching
  • Fact development & witness prep
    • Issue timelines
    • Key document identification
  • Experience working across multiple matters simultaneously
